Redmi 12 Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update
The Redmi 12 arrived in June 2023, running Android 13. In April 2024, Xiaomi upgraded the OS version to Android 14 with a stable HyperOS 1 update. As expected, the Chinese company has started rolling out the Redmi 12 Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update. It is a global release limited to a few users for preview.
Xiaomi is rolling out the upgrade with a build version OS2.0.3.0. VMXMIXM. It comes in a 4.5 GB package with all the expected features. Of course, you should not expect the AI features because they require more resources, which the Redmi 12 is not designed to give. Nevertheless, expect an improved performance, security, and stability after installing the upgrade.
In addition to the new changes, the update bumps the Android security patch level to November 2024. Of course, your device’s Android OS version moves to 15 after the installation. We recommend installing the update when prompted to enjoy the new features and optimizations that come with it.
How to download the Redmi 12 Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update
Xiaomi is rolling out the update in batches. This means only a few individuals are getting the upgrade, but we expect wide availability in the coming days. You can check for the update via the updater or wait until the company uploads the Recovery ROM to the server.
