HyperOS 2 has started to reach the first smartphones. The Xiaomi 14 has become one of the first to enjoy all the new features of this new update, and it is soon expected to reach more models, including other devices such as the POCO X6 Pro, Xiaomi 13T, or the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G.
You are probably waiting for the HyperOS 2 update to appear on your Xiaomi, although for this you must have automatic updates activated. In order to do so, below we explain how to verify that your Xiaomi, REDMI, or POCO is ready to receive HyperOS 2, and we also leave you with some advice that will undoubtedly help you prevent major risks.
How to check if your Xiaomi is ready to receive HyperOS 2
Hailed as the biggest update ever rolled out by Xiaomi, HyperOS 2 features a new core, HyperCore, which allows it to offer greater optimization with lower resource usage and lower battery consumption. Added to this are new AI-based tools, new customization options, and a slight redesign of the interface with a more user-friendly and intuitive look.
Now, if you want to be one of the first to receive HyperOS 2, you must have automatic updates activated on your Xiaomi, REDMI, or POCO. At the same time, we strongly advise against activating the Automatic Update option; that is, the goal is for your Xiaomi to always check for new available updates and inform you about them but not install them automatically. To do this, we will follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > About phone
- Next, we will click on the HyperOS logo to enter the update settings
- Finally, simply access the Update Settings section from the three dots in the upper right area to activate the Download automatically and Download using mobile data options.
- Additionally, we advise you to disable the Automatic Update option.
This way, our Xiaomi will be constantly checking if there is an update available, so as soon as HyperOS 2 is available, it will notify us of it. At the same time, we will avoid the update being installed automatically without our consent, and it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to do an Internet search and check that there are no serious errors that could render our smartphone unusable.
