Xiaomi maintains the stable Android 15-based HyperOS 2 rollout. This time, the Chinese manufacturer is concurrently upgrading the Redmi 13C. They are essentially the same phone with a few differences and are available in several locations. However, because it is a global release, all eligible users will receive the update.
Redmi 13C Main Features:
The phone runs on the Android 13 + MIUI 14 operating system. The smartphone is powered by the Mediatek MT6769Z Helio G85 Octa-core processor, while the GPU is Mali-G52 MC2. The smartphone is fueled by a non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery + 18W wired PD. It supports Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual standby).
The device comes in a 6.74-inch size, and the display is IPS LCD that provides a 720 x 1600 pixels resolution, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It is packed with 4 GB, 6 GB, and 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB and 256 GB of internal storage. The rear camera features a triple camera: 50 MP (wide) + 2 MP (macro) + 0.08 MP (depth), while on the front, there is a single camera: 8 MP.
The device is equipped with sensors such as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an accelerometer, a compass, and virtual proximity sensing. Xiaomi Redmi 13C is available in various colors, including Midnight Black, Navy Blue, Glacier White, and Clover Green. The dimensions of the device is 168 x 78 x 8.1 mm, and it weighs 192 grams.
The Redmi 13C Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update is rolling out with version number OS2.0.2.0. VGPMIXM. It comes in a 4.7 GB package with a stripped-down changelog compared to what arrived for the flagship phones. Nevertheless, this update bundles all the new features aimed at improving device performance, stability, and security. The few left out are AI, given the resources allocated to them.
While the update is arriving for global users, we understand only Mi Pilot members are getting a notice for the OTA. The idea is to allow time for a preview, and in the absence of any serious problems, the update will become available for more people. We also expect an expansion to other regions in the coming days/weeks.

Xiaomi is rolling out the update in batches, meaning it will take time before it becomes available for everyone. Unfortunately, the company has yet to upload the Recovery ROM to the server, and hence, the only way to access the build is via the updater app. Ensure you back up your files before installing the update, as it’s the first cross-section Android upgrade. It is likely to contain bugs, and some system apps are yet to adapt, which can cause glitches.
