The Redmi Note 12 is the latest device to receive an Android 15 upgrade with a stable HyperOS 2 update. It’s a global rollout confined to a few users for testing, with the goal of a public release in the coming weeks. However, you can manually install it using an authorized Mi Beta account.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Android 15-based HyperOS 2 upgrade is available with the version number OS2.0.5.0.VMTMIXM and weighs 4.7 GB. It includes all of the expected capabilities, with the exception of a few AI features that are only available on flagship phones due to the resources dedicated to them. Aside from these modifications, the update raises the Android security patch level to November 2024, and the OS version to 15.
Meanwhile, the most recent release is only available to a small number of consumers around the world. It is unlikely to come on your smartphone because the business allows two weeks for testing to determine whether the build contains any severe flaws. Fortunately, we haven’t seen any severe concerns since the rollout began, so the public release could happen sooner.
How to download the Redmi Note 12 Android 15-based HyperOS 2
The update is being distributed via the updater app. Xiaomi has yet to publish the Recovery ROM to their site; hence we cannot obtain it. You can check back in a few days or use the updater app to see if it is already available on your device. We recommend backing up your files before applying the update, as this is the first cross-section Android update for the phone and may have issues.
