Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update

Xiaomi continues to upgrade eligible devices to Android 15 with a stable HyperOS 2 update. The latest device to start getting the much-anticipated upgrade is the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G. It’s a global release limited to a few users for preview, with a public release coming in the coming days.

Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G Specs

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus was officially released on Sept. 21, 2023. The phone runs on Android 13 + MIUI 14 operating system. The smartphone is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 7200 Ultra Octa-core processor while the GPU is Mali-G610 MC4. The smartphone is fueled by a non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery + 120W wired, PD3.0, 100% in 19 min (advertised).

The device comes in 6.67 inches size and the display is OLED that provides 1220 x 2712 pixels resolution, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It is packed with 12 GB, 16 GB RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB internal storage. The rear camera features a triple-camera: 200 MP (wide) + 8 MP (ultrawide) + 2 MP (macro) while on the front, there is a single camera: 16 MP.

The device is equipped with sensors such as under display, optical fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is available in a various colors including Black, White, Violet, Camo Green. The dimension of the device is 161.4 x 74.2 x 8.9 mm and it weighs 204.5 grams. It supports Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) + IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 min).

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update is rolling out with version number OS2.0.2.0. VNGMIXM. It comes in a 4.7 GB package with all the expected features. Unfortunately, some AI features seem to be missing, probably due to the resources required for them to function. Nevertheless, you will notice a performance improvement thanks to the HyperCore. Also, HyperConnect allows you to share files with iOS devices and more.

We understand Xiaomi is rolling out the update in batches. Only Mi Pilot members are getting the build for preview, which will last a few days. The idea is to contain any serious issues that might arise after installing the update, but we haven’t seen any. Xiaomi may start the public release, but you should back up your data before upgrading.

How to download the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update

Xiaomi is rolling out the update via OTA. They are yet to upload the recovery ROM to their server. Hence, we cannot access it, but you can check the updater app. If the update has not arrived, we recommend you check back after some days.
